Post Haste: People keep sharing those phony Facebook posts; Former Ohio University receiver inks deal with Vikings

Good morning. Here's what you need to know for Wednesday, Sept. 30, 2015:

It has been an eventful couple of days for social media.

A phony post about Facebook requiring users to pay $6 to keep their accounts private resurfaced. The post is so phony, and so widespread, that Facebook, Inc. actually released a statement about it.

The important snippet: “And the thing about copying and pasting a legal notice is just a hoax.”

Facebook’s brevity-heavy competitor, Twitter.com, also made news Tuesday when the company announced it’s working on a product that will allow users to publish messages longer than 140 characters to the site.

Tweeters already do this using services like TwitLonger, but this one will be official, or something.

Weather

Looks like we’re in for another gross one. Windy, cloudy, a 60 percent chance of rain and a high of 68 degrees. (Courtesy of Scalia Lab)
