Some students still go to Chipotle despite the E. Coli outbreak.

Chipotle is closed part of the day — but you can get a free burrito

Chipotle Mexican Grill closed its doors Monday morning, but put out an offer of free burritos online.

Some Bobcats woke up to a horrifying scene on Court Street Monday morning: a closed Chipotle and no source for delicious burrito bowls.

Chipotle Mexican Grill closed it's stores Monday morning for a "company-wide meeting," according to their website.

Stores nationwide will reopen at 3 p.m., so Bobcats can start getting in line on Court Street later this afternoon.

The closure comes after an E. coli crisis sent Chipotle stocks plummeting and brought sales to an unusual low.

Despite the restaurant's bad rap (no pun intended), Ohio University students continued to faithfully line up at the restaurant's door in the past few weeks.

Though the store is closed for the morning, the company is offering a free burrito to those whose lunch plans were ruined.

To receive a coupon for free Chipotle deliciousness, text "RAINCHECK" to 888-222. Chipotle will then text you back with a link to provide your name and zipcode.

The wonders of modern technology, am I right?

The offer is available from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. and only on a first come, first serve basis, so get on that.
