Good Morning,

Perhaps a fear of clowns isn’t as irrational as you thought.

People in at least six different states in the eastern U.S. have recently reported disturbances involving individuals dressed as clowns causing disturbances, according to NPR. And during the weekend, reports of such clowns surfaced in Ohio.

On Saturday, police issued a “clown warning” to residents in Portsmouth, Ohio — a city about an hour and half southwest of Athens — after receiving reports of a person dressed in a clown suit knocking on doors and holding an axe.

Residents were advised against “dressing up as clowns and partaking in this type of activity,” according to The Portsmouth Daily Times.

Police were also notified of another mishap involving clowns in Norwalk, Ohio on Friday night. The Dayton Daily News reported on recent sightings closer to Cincinnati as well.
