Good morning,

The 2016 edition of the Athens Halloween Block Party has come and gone.

The Athens Police Department made 35 arrests — most of which were alcohol related — while The Ohio University Police Department issued 69 citations. EMS responded to 37 calls, 26 of which ended in trips to OhioHealth O’Bleness Hospital.

Partygoers enjoyed nicer weather than year’s past. Last year’s block party was plagued with rain, causing many attendees to leave early.

Officers ended the block party around 2:30 a.m., when a wall of mounted units “swept” partygoers off of Court Street.
