Good morning,

While students went home for Thanksgiving Break, some Ohio athletes remained on campus to continue their seasons.

And it just might have been one of the best weeks to be a part of Ohio Athletics.

The football team earned a spot in the Mid-American Conference Football Championship Game, and the men's and women's basketball teams both jumped to 4-0 on the season.

The day classes ended, Ohio defeated Akron 9-3 to move to the championship game for the first time since 2011. The game was a defensive struggle and went down to the wire before the Bobcats eventually pulled it out.

Ohio will face unbeaten, No. 21 Western Michigan on Friday night at Ford Field in Detroit in the title game. Bus transportation and tickets are free for students. The Bobcats have not won a MAC Championship since 1968.

The men's basketball team beat Tennessee Tech 68-57 on Black Friday to move to 4-0 for the first time since the 2012-13 season.

Not to be outdone, the women's basketball team also moved to 4-0, with a win over Northern Kentucky. Despite the win, coach Bob Boldon and the team wasn't very happy with its performance.
