Country music fans are scheduled to have a “Hell of a Night” in February.
Dustin Lynch will perform in the Templeton-Blackburn Alumni Memorial Auditorium on Feb. 10 at 8 p.m. Admission is $45 for the first 10 rows, $35 for the remainder of the floor and $25 for balcony seats.
Lynch is no stranger to Ohio University as he performed in MemAud in January 2013 alongside fellow country musician Easton Corbin.
“He was a huge hit as an opening artist — with hundreds of new fans crowding around him in the Mem Aud lobby for autographs,” Andrew Holzaepfel, the senior associate director of student activities, said in an email. “We are excited to have him back in Athens as a headliner.”
Dustin Lynch has three No. 1 singles on Billboard’s Country Airplay chart — “Mind Reader,” “Hell of a Night” and “Where It’s At.” The country artist is also known for his 2012 tune "Cowboys and Angels," which peaked at No. 2 on the same chart.
One reason the Campus Involvement Center decided to book Lynch, Holzaepfel said, is they believe he is on his way to “superstardom” because of his consecutive No. 1 hits.
On Spotify, Lynch’s most-streamed song is “Where It’s At,” which has accumulated more than 29 million plays. He also has over a million monthly listeners on the music streaming site.
“We are anticipating a high-energy performance that will absolutely be present in the crowd as well,” Holzaepfel said in an email.
