Good morning.

Update: The event described in this morning's Post Haste has been canceled and will be rescheduled according to the College of Communication's website.

When you think of a place that makes for great photos, Southeast Ohio might not be the first area that comes to mind.

One photographer, however, has made a name for himself in part by photographing Athens and the surrounding area, and he’ll be on campus today speak about his work.

Today, commercial photographer Matt Eich will host a presentation related to his current exhibit, Carry Me Ohio.

“For the past ten years, I have made pictures of the people of this region as they attempt to recover in the aftermath of extractive industry,” Eich writes of his photo collection. “What I have discovered transcends any stereotype – despite circumstances, these proud Americans persevere and cling to family, community, and land with an admirable tenacity.”

Eich’s exhibit will operate until Jan. 31 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and is located on the first floor of Schoonover Center.

Eich is an OU School of Visual Communication alumnus. His presentation will take place tonight at 7:30 p.m. in Schoonover 145.
