Good morning,

Happy Groundhog Day.

This morning everyone’s eyes will be on the most famous groundhog in the world, Punxsutawney Phil, when he exits his burrow and looks for his shadow.

Legend has it, if Phil sees his shadow, winter will continue for six more weeks. If not, spring will come early.

While the tradition involving Punxsutawney Phil may be recognized around the nation (mostly due to Bill Murray’s 1993 movie Groundhog Day), Ohio also celebrates the occasion with its own ceremony.

Buckeye Chuck, who resides in Marion, Ohio, will make his prediction around 7:40 a.m., about 20 minutes after Phil. You can watch the live stream of both groundhog predictions on Cleveland.com.

A side note: remember when the OU student body fell in love with a groundhog?
