Sarcastic Scoop: Blunder at presidential election leads host to read “Donald Trump” as new president

WASHINGTON, D.C. — After big mistakes with Steve Harvey’s hosting performance on Miss Universe and now The Oscars with giving Best Picture to La La Land at first instead of Moonlight , the United States election has announced its massive blunder that has sent a sigh of relief throughout many Americans. In a wonky and thrilling accident, Donald Trump, the reality TV personality and billionaire CEO, was announced as the President of the United States instead of previous Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

“Wow, what a mistake,” Virginia resident Sally Wunders told reporters. “Just crazy how that can happen. Well, guess we gotta just go with this one, huh?”

“That’s just nuts,” Ohio resident Collin Bauer said. “I can’t believe it. So you’re saying the Hillary lady had more votes and everything? They just read the wrong card? Wow. Crazy how American politics is just like a competition TV show these days.”

The hilarious mix-up has been followed by an unprecedented response, which is to just let the loser go ahead and take the title. Whoops!

“Yes, despite the results of the voting of our citizens and the clear disparity in skillsets and experience, we will be allowing Donald Trump to take the title of the presidency,” the electors wrote in an official press release statement. “Hopefully this mistake will not happen again; we apologize deeply, but we hope the next four years go well for us as a country! Sorry guys!”
