Drug trafficker from Detroit arrested by Athens County Prosecutor’s Office, U.S. Marshall Service

Bradley McCutchen, a multi-state drug trafficker from Detroit, was arrested Tuesday at his residence by the Athens County Prosecutor’s Office along with U.S. Marshall Service, Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office and Wayne County Sheriff's Office, according to a news release.

He has active warrants out of Athens County and Scioto County for a probation violation stemming from a drug possession conviction in addition to a federal warrant out of Washington, D.C., for selling heroin.

“It is believed that McCutchen used associates in Athens to transport large quantities of 30 mg Oxycodone pills from Detroit to Athens and would stay at their home to protect the opioids and then collect the proceeds from the sales,” Keller Blackburn, Athens County prosecutor, said in a news release.

On Monday, McCutchen was indicted by the Athens County Grand Jury for engaging in a pattern of corrupt activity, a felony of the first degree and five counts of aggravated trafficking in drugs. Of those counts, two counts are felonies of the first degree, one is a felony of the second degree and two are felonies of the third degree.

The case remains under investigation, and the Athens County Prosecutor’s staff is executing a search warrant in Detroit on McCutchen's residence.

The Athens County Prosecutor’s Office started their investigation into McCutchen after the Fairfield, Hocking, Athens Major Crimes Unit, helped by the Athens County Sheriff’s Office, arrested McCutchen’s Athens-based associates, Jessica Cremeans and Caleb Wilson.

The cases were referred to the Prosecutor’s Office and both Cremeans and Wilson were indicted by the Athens County Grand Jury.

Cremeans was indicted for aggravated trafficking in drugs, aggravated possession of drugs and tampering with evidence. Wilson was indicted for aggravated trafficking in drugs and aggravated possession of drugs.

As of Tuesday, there have been charges by the Prosecutor’s Office against four other Athens County residents for their involvement.
