The Ohio University Police Department received its eighth report of alleged rape for the Spring Semester on Tuesday.
At approximately 6:16 p.m. Tuesday, an individual reported unwanted sexual contact by a known acquaintance in James Hall on West Green. The incident was classified as rape and is currently under investigation, according to the police report.
Tuesday’s incident was the first in nearly a month for OUPD.
On March 23, OUPD was called to OhioHealth O’Bleness Memorial Hospital to retrieve a sexual assault examination kit for an alleged rape. During that week alone, local law enforcement saw a total of four sex-related crimes.
