Good Morning
Today, Jason Pina, Ohio University’s recently hired vice president of student affairs, will run his fourth Boston Marathon.
In an article published by the Marathon Training Academy, Pina recounted how he became a marathoner. That included some dramatic weight loss.
“At one point, I weighed 400 pounds,” Pina said. “I told (my wife) one day that I wanted to lose weight. I lost 101 pounds in eight months.”
Pina attempted his first half marathon in 2012, and since then hasn’t quit — today’s race will be his tenth of more than 26 miles.
Pina has faithfully ran the Boston Marathon and was present for the 2013 Boston Marathon Bombing that killed three and injured more than 100.
