Here's how to celebrate National Pizza Party Day in Athens

National Pizza Party Day is Friday, so it is important to know how to be the champion of the pizza parties. Here are a few things to know in order to throw a rager filled with pepperoni and cheese in Athens.

  1. The most important part of the party is obviously the pizza. If you want something everyone knows and is a dependable choice, pick up some Domino's, 12 Mill St. If you want something a little different and can make any combination of ingredients, stop by Avalanche Pizza, 329 E. State St. Courtside Pizza, 85 N. Court St., is also a solid choice for anyone looking for a solid slice. You can also go more DIY and make the pizza yourself. Set up an area where party-goers can pick their own toppings before tossing the pizzas in the oven.
  2. Another important part is the atmosphere you plan to have. Sophisticated? Grab some wine, candles and a good cheese plate. Just looking to have fun? Grab some beer and chips. A part of the atmosphere is the decor. There are plenty decor ideas online, such as pizza garlands, pin the pepperoni on the pizza and more.
  3. Any good party has some kind of entertainment for guests. Some possible choices are taste testing different pizzas, a competition for best pizza and a pizza eating contest. There are plenty more ideas for party activities online.
  4. Any good party has awesome desserts after the food. There are a lot of pizza-themed options for desserts. You can make pizza cookies, a pizza cake and even pizza cupcakes. You could even make the desserts into an activity with decorating.

So grab a slice and get party planning!
