TV Recap: Rachel Lindsay faced DeMario, Lee on ‘The Bachelorette: Men Tell All’

Rachel Lindsay didn’t get a proposal on Monday’s episode of The Bachelorette, but she did face 15 of her ex-boyfriends. On the “Men Tell All” episode, her former suitors talked more about the altercations than their infatuation with Rachel. While the men threw shade at each other, Rachel casted a shadow over them as well. Here are the highlights from The Bachelorette: Men Tell All.

Blake and Lucas were as whiny as ever

Early in the season, it appeared Blake and Lucas were going to be the “big” feud that every season has, but it proved to just be child’s play. Rachel sent the two of them home as soon as the sophomoric squabble began.

On the Men Tell All, Blake and Lucas quickly faded into the background as Chris Harrison asked them a couple of questions. Lucas — you might remember him as Whaboom — tried to get his two cents in, but all of the other guys weren’t having it. They weren’t going to let wannabe reality stars distract them from getting the answers they needed. For most of the episode, Lucas and Blake sat in silence, probably upset the spotlight wasn’t on them.

Kenny and Lee faced each other again

The feud between Kenny and Lee for Bachelor Nation is the equivalent of the Taylor Swift/Katy Perry feud — there was definitely some bad blood between them.

Lee made allegations in the season that Kenny was aggressive toward him. It ultimately sent him packing after a two-on-one. When Lee took the hot seat, he admitted he lied.

“I should have been a better friend … and I apologize to you,” Lee said to Kenny.

But when Lee apologized, Kenny didn’t believe him because of the on-camera interviews he did with the producers of the show. Kenny said he felt like Lee was trying to defend himself because he wasn’t in the same league as the other guys on the show.

Despite rejecting Lee’s initial apology, Kenny said he had no ill feelings toward Lee.

Kenny got a surprise visit

Rachel sent Kenny home the same week as the two-on-one because he missed his daughter. When Rachel came out to talk to the men, Kenny had only nice, flirtatious words to say.

“(You were) one of the most mature break ups,” he said. “If Bryan, Eric or Peter don’t work out, you already have my number, girl.”

Chris didn’t want Kenny to be without his daughter another day due to Bachelorette duties, so he surprised him by bringing in his daughter out to the taping.

The three of them sat and talked, and his daughter said, “I’m proud of you. You were like number 8.”

Yeah, top ten isn’t too bad. But the night got better when Chris gave them a trip to Disneyland for Kenny’s birthday. Honestly, Kenny was the most sincere man on The Bachelorette this season. No one would complain if he happens to be the next Bachelor.

Lee learned some life lessons

When Lee was put in the hot seat, Chris noticed he was “literally shaking in (his) boots.” While the season aired, Lee came under fire for some seemingly racist and sexist tweets. The men on the stage wanted answers from Lee.

In one tweet, Lee compared the NAACP to the KKK, which prompted Josiah to sit next to Lee on stage and ask him why he came on the show to date a black woman. Lee fed the men canned answers and seemed insincere at first. But everything made a turn for the better when Lee apologized for being ignorant and admitted the tweets were racist. The men even offered to help Lee see the errors in his ways and right his wrongs.

“I appreciate, even through (it) all, even with doubt, you are reaching out to help,” Lee said.

The men weren’t the only ones to accept an apology and offer to help. Rachel herself offered to teach him a lesson or two.

“You can meet me backstage and I’ll be more than happy to give you a black history lesson (and) a lesson on women’s rights,” Rachel said.

Chris Harrison said he has tapes of a conversation with DeMario

Rachel had to deal with a lot of drama early on in the season. In the second week, DeMario’s supposed girlfriend showed up and Rachel gave him the boot. (He was also involved in some Bachelor in Paradise drama).

When the spotlight was turned to DeMario, he still denied he was in a relationship with the girl, but did call her his “side chick,” which prompted a roar of disapproval from the audience.

“You can boo me,” he said. “I’m keeping it real.”

Chris was still confused because he said he has tapes of DeMario saying he was in a relationship with the woman. Come on, who are we going to believe in this situation — DeMario or Chris?

Rachel didn’t want to put up with DeMario. When asked about him, she threw some shade at DeMario: “Who? Oh shade, the branches are out.”

Rachel really does keep it 100. She doesn’t pretend to be anyone other than herself. You go, girl.

Dean got some closure

Possibly the most shocking goodbye came when Rachel sent Dean home after saying she was falling in love with him. Up until his final rose ceremony Dean seemed to be frontrunner since their first one-on-one.

Dean told Rachel he was confused as to why she sent him home. She said she never lied about how she felt about him, and that was something he needed to hear one more time to finally get closure.

But Dean will continue his journey to find love on Bachelor in Paradise. Not only will people get to see his amazing smile but hopefully his great body too.

The three-hour season finale of The Bachelorette will air Monday at 8 p.m. on ABC.
