Good morning,

Today marks the launch of Amazon Key, the new service that allows delivery men and women to unlock your front door to drop of your packages.

To use the service, people must buy the new Amazon Cloud Cam and a compatible smart lock for their front door.

The service works when the barcode on your package is scanned which sends a message to the Amazon Cloud Cam. This prompts the Cloud Cam to start recording and sends a message to the person delivering the package which allows them to unlock your front door. Once the delivery is completed, the owner will get notification including a short video of the package being delivered.

The Amazon Key app is available today. Bundles from Amazon that include smart locks, the Cloud Cam and installation start at $249.99.
