The International Olympic Committee (IOC) announced Russia will be banned from the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang because the country was guilty of having an extensive state-backed doping program.
Before the start of the 2014 Winter Olympics in Sochi, the Russian government was said to have tampered more than 100 samples of urine as part of an detailed operation.
Any athletes that have special permission to compete have to wear neutral uniforms and Russia will be recorded to have won zero medals in the official record book of The Olympics.
