Hollywood's biggest night was Sunday when Academy Awards were given out to the biggest movies of the past year. The biggest award, Best Picture, went to The Shape of Water, directed by Guillermo del Toro.
The movie, starring Sally Hawkins, was the most nominated film at the Oscars with 13 nominations. The award for Best Director also went to del Toro. Octavia Spencer and Richard Jenkins were also nominated for supporting acting roles.
The Shape of Water is about a mute woman who falls in love with an amphibious monster. It is the first time del Toro has won an Oscar for directing. In five years, this is the fourth time a Mexican person has won the directing category.
