Student Senate: Members continue to revise their constitution

Ohio University Student Senate will continue to revise its constitution at its meeting Wednesday.

At its Feb. 21 meeting, the body voted to table all resolutions with constitutional amendments in order to have proper time to consider the changes. Senate will vote Wednesday on whether or not to create a bill of rights section of the constitution.

The three other resolutions amending the constitution propose the creation of “composition,” “appointments and inauguration” and “operations” sections.

Senate will also vote on resolutions appointing senators to the Off-Campus Life Commission and the Academic Affairs Commission.

Other resolutions to be voted on include funding the Senate networking trip, purchasing space in Baker Theater for a Black Affairs Commission event and purchasing doughnuts for International Women’s Day.

The student trustees and Pete Trentacoste, executive director of Housing and Residence Life, will each give presentations at the beginning of the meeting.
