TV Recap: Characters on ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ found their own way to celebrate 4/20

The doctors of Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital celebrate 4/20 just like a lot of other people.

In Thursday’s episode of Grey’s Anatomy, Arizona Robbins (Jessica Capshaw) was gifted some cookies from former patients. What she didn’t know was that they contained cannabis peanut butter.

Arizona gave the cookies to a lot of the doctors during the presentation of their contest prototypes. As one can imagine, that didn’t go well.

“We can make a better vagina. That sounded wrong. Vaginas are fine the way they are. I love vaginas. I came from one,” Jackson Avery (Jesse Williams), who ate some of the cookies, said while talking about his idea to improve reconstructive surgery.

Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) and Jo Wilson (Camilla Luddington) were some of the only ones not to eat any cookies. Grey postponed the contest and told everyone there for the event that the doctors ate cookies laced with rat poisoning. When Grey explained to them that it was just marijuana, even Arizona was shocked.

“You scared me to death,” Arizona said.

“You knew they had weed in them,” Meredith responded.

For some people, it was their first time getting high. Maggie Pierce (Kelly McCreary) wanted to be alone, but Arizona assured her being alone was not a good idea. It was for a good reason too.

“I don’t think I need my neck anymore,” Pierce said.

Miranda Bailey (Chandra Wilson) and April Kepner (Sarah Drew) sat together and talked about how it was their first time too. Bailey wasn’t fond of high April.

“I thought marijuana made people peaceful, but I don’t know that I’ve ever hated you more,” Bailey said.

The episode was one of the funniest in the show’s 14 seasons. The only one comparable is the dermatology episode from season five. This will surely be an episode fans will remember for a long time.
