Baseball: Ohio to face Toledo over the weekend

After their first home series of the season, the Bobcats will travel to Toledo for a three-game set against the Rockets this weekend. Last weekend, Ohio went 2-1 against Northern Illinois. The Bobcats and Rockets enter the series tied for fourth in the Mid-American Conference with 3-3 records.

Probable Pitchers

Friday, 3:05 p.m.: Ohio v. Toledo

Probable Pitchers: Salisbury (3-4, 5.03 ERA) v. Jacob (0-4, 5.22 ERA)

Saturday, 1:05 p.m.: Ohio v. Toledo

Probable Pitchers: Carr (1-0, 3.21 ERA) v. Shutes (5-0, 4.58 ERA)

Sunday, 1:05 p.m.: Ohio v. Toledo

Probable Pitchers: Baird (2-2, 5.03 ERA) v. TBD

The Toledo Report

Outfielder Ross Adolph leads the Rockets offense with a .333 average, nine doubles and seven home runs. He also leads the team with 27 RBIs though 24 games. Outfielder John Servello is batting .322 with five doubles, two triples and two home runs.

The Rockets’ pitching staff is led by starter Sam Shutes, who is 5-0 with a 4.58 ERA in seven starts. He has logged 40 strikeouts in 39.1 innings pitched.
