Two arrested for cocaine possession

Methamphetamine, 1.5 ounces of cocaine (mostly crack), suspected heroin, more than $7,000 in cash, a handgun and digital scales were recovered from a New Marshfield residence on Tuesday.

Dechaun Emil Toliver, 25, and Rebecca L. Pickett, 53, were arrested for drug-related felonies and transported to the Southeastern Ohio Regional Jail.

Toliver, from Springfield, was arrested for possession and trafficking cocaine in Athens County. He was charged with two first-degree felonies.

Pickett, of New Marshfield, was charged with two fifth-degree felonies: possession of cocaine and permitting drug use.

The Athens County Major Crimes Unit the Athens County Sheriff’s Office executed a drug related search at the residence on Old State Route 56 because there was suspicion of illegal drug trafficking and a suspect with felony arrest warrants for drug-related offenses was staying there, according to an Athens County Sheriff's Department press release.

The investigation is ongoing, and additional charges are expected.
