Sex offense reported at Ewing House last week, according to crime log

A sex offense in Ewing House was reported Thursday evening to the Ohio University Police Department.

According to the OUPD crime report, a 19-year-old woman reported an unwanted, known suspect. 

The offense is classified as sexual imposition, which is defined as sexual touching or requests for sex when the offender knows that such behavior is offensive to the victim, or the victim’s judgment is impaired. 

Sexual imposition is a third-degree misdemeanor and has maximum penalties of 60 days in jail and $500 in fines.
