OhioHealth CEO Blom to be replaced in fall 2019

David Blom plans to retire in 2019 after almost 17 years of working with the OhioHealth Corp.

During his tenure, OhioHealth added Grady Memorial Hospital in Delaware, Ohio, and built Dublin (Ohio) Methodist Hospital.

The OhioHealth Board of Directors voted last Tuesday to promote Dr. Stephen Markovich to CEO. Blom’s newly named successor has also served the not-for-profit, faith-based healthcare system for more than 22 years.

Markovich currently serves as the system’s senior vice president of acute care operations and will work alongside Blom for the remainder of the year. Blom hopes to keep the transition seamless for the OhioHealth community.

Future operations for the new CEO include heading 10 hospitals — including OhioHealth O'Bleness Hospital in Athens — three affiliates, outpatient network, employed physicians, hospice, home-care services and workplace health.
