To celebrate the Big Mac’s 50th anniversary, McDonald’s is unveiling a new “food currency.”

McDonald’s will launch the MacCoin, a new currency can be used in 50 different countries to earn a free Big Mac, according to USAToday

Starting Thursday, anyone who purchases a Big Mac will receive a MacCoin, which can then be redeemed for a free burger starting Friday. The MacCoins can then be used through the end of the year.

There are five different MacCoins to collect, each representing a different decade of the burger.

The Big Mac, which consists of two beef patties, three buns, a slice of cheese, lettuce, onions and a special sauce, was first added to McDonald’s national menu in 1986, according to Thrillest

Since its debut, there have been a timeline of historical moments for the burger such as having its own jingle and museum.
