‘Black Panther,’ ‘The Emperor's New Groove’ coming to Netflix in September; ‘The Dark Knight’ departs

The start of September brings the start of a new school year, and what better way to kick it off than with new movies and TV shows to binge on Netflix?

From Netflix Originals to some of the most recent blockbusters, Netflix will be adding a lot more content to be streamed with only a small list of movies and shows set to be taken off.

What’s New

One of the bigger additions to Netflix will be Marvel’s Black Panther (Sept. 4), which came out in February. The superhero film was well-received by audiences and critics worldwide and will be the fifth Marvel movie to be added to Netflix. Disney’s A Wrinkle in Time (Sept. 25), which also came out in February, will debut on Netflix as well.

Netflix will also add some popular throwback movies, including The Breakfast Club and Groundhog Day (both Sept. 1). The Breakfast Club is a comedic drama directed by John Hughes that follows five students who befriend one another in detention to create unlikely friendships. Groundhog Day, starring Bill Murray, is about a weatherman who lives the same day over and over again until he can find a way to break the cycle.

Several TV series will return with new seasons this month, as well as the premiere of a couple new ones. American Horror Story: Cult (Sept. 18) and The Walking Dead season eight (Sept. 23) are returning for some late-night binging, as well as a Netflix original series BoJack Horseman season five (Sept. 14). A new Netflix limited series Maniac (Sept. 21), starring Emma Stone and Jonah Hill, will also come to Netflix. It’s about a pair of strangers who volunteer for an experimental treatment only to have something happen to them that sends them on a weird journey.

Here is the complete list of what will be coming and leaving Netflix in September:
