Ohio place kicker Matt Weller has been honored for his stellar performance against Bowling Green last week.
The Mid-American Conference named Weller the East Division Special Teams Player of the Week Monday.
Weller connected on five of his six field goal attempts to propel Ohio past Bowling Green 29-28, claiming the MAC East title in the process.
He kicked field goals of 31,39, 24, 49 and 23 yards. Weller nailed kicks as time expired in the first and second halves. His first kick gave Ohio a halftime lead, and the second gave the team the victory.
Weller broke the school records for field goals (five) and attempts (six) in the game.
