Nelsonville-York will take the field Friday and hope that they can put their loss to undeafeated Athens in the back of their mind with a win against Portsmouth in the first round of the Ohio High School Playoffs.
The Buckeyes (Tabbed as the 4th seed) will face-off against 5th-seeded Portsmouth who is also 9-1 on the season and coming off a win against Wheelersburg.
The Buckeyes lost in the first round of the Ohio High School Playoffs last season when they were defeated by Minford 27-6.
An early playoff exit may be less likely this year as Nelsonville-York is not only the higher seed, but they also are afforded the luxery of playing at home.
Gametime is pegged for 7:00 p.m. at Boston Field.
