It didn't take long for the Bobcats to get some recognition. Wednesday, The Mid-American Conference named sophmore Rachel Stearns MAC Swimmer of the Week.
Ohio is 2-0 on the season thanks in large parts to Stearns' efforts in the pool over the weekend. Winning six of the seven events she participated in, the sophmore racked up the fastest times in the 100 Backstroke (58.42) and 200 IM (2:08:97) on Friday and participated in the 1st place 200 Medley Relay team.
On Saturday, Stearns came out fish-like once again helping the 200 Medley Relay team to victory. She also placed first in the 100 Backstroke (57.80) and 200 Backstroke (2:05:54) and finsihed second in the 200 IM (2:08:78).
The Bobcats defeated conference foes Bowling Green and Eastern Michigan on Friday and Saturday in two duel meet events.
Ohio hits the pool this Saturday when they host Buffalo at the Ohio University Aquatic Center. The event is scheduled for a 1 p.m. start time.
