Ohio furthered its Central States Collegiate Hockey League win streak to five games Friday night with a 4-1 against Robert Morris in Illinois.

With the win the Bobcats improve move to 21-7-0 on the season, including 8-1 in the CSCHL, and could move into first-place in the league with another win over the Eagles tomorrow night.

Ohio got off to a bit of a slow shaky Friday, with Robert Morris’ Mason Riley scoring just five minutes into the game for a 1-0 lead.

Both after the rest of the first went by without another goal, Ohio exploded for three in the second. Defenseman Zack Barbis got the party going with his seventh of the year just 1:30 into the period, with forwards Nick Rostek and Zach Tisdale following with goals less than two minutes apart near the end of the middle frame.

The Bobcats then put the game away in the third when John Luciana, playing in his first game since October, scoring 12 minutes into the period. The Eagles had a small window of opportunity 5-on-3 advantage late in the period but couldn’t put a dent into the Ohio lead as they fell to 18-5-1 (2-2-1 in the CSCHL) on the season.

Brendan Madden got the win in net, making 24 saves for the Bobcats to improve his record to 9-1 on the season. The freshman has started each of the five games in Ohio’s winning streak, averaging a 1.00 goals against average not giving up more than two goals in any of them.

Ohio will be back in action against Robert Morris tomorrow night, with faceoff set for 8:30 EST. Craig Myeroff, Josh Fodor and Tom Whetsel, all of whom sat out Friday due to suspensions, will be back in the Bobcat lineup as they go for the sweep.
