Ohio moved to the top of the Central States Collegiate Hockey League standings with a win and a shootout loss over the weekend against Robert Morris.

Having played 10 games in the league, Ohio sits atop the table with 24 points, two ahead of Lindenwood. However, the Lions have played two less games than the Bobcats.

Ohio could place a much firmer group on first this upcoming weekend when they travel to Missouri for two games with the Lions. 12 league points will be on the line, meaning Ohio will need two victories to remain on top.

The winner of the regular season crown gets the prize of a bye in the first round of the league tournament, which will be held Feb. 17-19 in Athens,

Having played just six games in the league Robert Morris moved into fifth place with nine points thanks to the four they earned in a shootout loss against Ohio on Saturday. Iowa State moved into third place thanks to two weekend victories over Kent State, who dropped into last place.

Illinois and Indiana remain in fourth and sixth place with 10 and seven points, respectively, after playing non-CSCHL competition over the weekend.

This upcoming weekend should provide more clarity as three series between CSCHL teams will take place. Along with Ohio at Lindenwood, Robert Morris will travel to Kent and Iowa State will head to Illinois. Indiana will be the only team to play out of the league as they travel to Michigan-Dearborn.
