The Northern Illinois basketball team has dismissed its leading scorer, senior Tim Toler.

Coach Mark Montgomery announced Thursday that Toler violated team rules before the Huskies’ game against Ball State last Saturday.

The team has two wins on the year, with its lone Mid-American Conference victory against Central Michigan.

Toler played in 16 games for the Huskies this season and averaged 10.8 points per game.

With the departure of Toler, the team is left with two seniors, compared to seven freshmen.
