The Ohio field hockey team grabbed a bit of national recognition, playing in the NCAA Championships against the University of North Carolina this fall.

As a result, the Bobcats are in the running for $200,000 in scholarships from the Capital One Cup, a intercollegiate competition that was established last year.

The Capital One Cup awards $200,000 to the general scholarship fund of the school which wins the men's and women's competitions.

Ohio's women's sports finished the fall season ranked 29th in the cup standings.

The Bobcats are the only Mid-American Conference team featured to either the men's or women's ranking.

UCLA, the leader of the women's competition, ranks 70 points ahead of the Bobcats.
