With no hope of either team winning the TVC-Ohio, both Alexander and Nelsonville-York just hope to end the regular season strong.
Looking forward to postseason play, Friday’s game gives each team an opportunity to end their season on a positive note heading into tournament time.
“We’re still doing all the little things,” Alexander coach Blaine Gabriel said. “Nobody’s down and we’re still looking to make a run here at the tail-end of the year. We’re still pretty upbeat.”
Alexander defeated the Buckeyes earlier this season in Nelsonville, 60-44. The Nelsonville-York win was one of only two conference victories all year for the Spartans.
The Buckeyes are coming off a win against River Valley on the road.
Despite the lackluster season, Gabriel said Alexander’s previous win against the Buckeyes has given the Spartans confidence moving into Friday’s game.
