The American Collegiate Hockey Association released its 9th set of rankings on Wednesday, with Ohio remaining in the sixth position

This set of rankings is what will be used to seed teams for the ACHA national tournament, to be held in Strongsville, Ohio, March 2-7, meaning the Bobcats will take on Central States Collegiate Hockey League-rivals and 11th-seeded Illinois at 1 p.m. on March 3. Ohio beat the Fighting Illini 4-1 and 5-1 back in January.

If the Bobcats do get by Illinois, they will likely face third-seeded Delaware, who beat Ohio 6-1 in October. The Blue Hens will have to get by the winner of the play-in matchup of Davenport vs. Drexel.

Penn State was the coaches’ choice for top team in the nation for the eighth-straight time, garnering 26 of the 37 first-place votes. Delaware, Lindenwood, Arizona State and Liberty rounded out the top-five.

Five of the seven teams in CSCHL finished in the top-11 of the rankings, with Iowa State and Robert Morris joining Ohio, Lindenwood and Illinois. Fellow league members Kent State will also get into the tournament as hosts, meaning Indiana will be the only team from the league not attending.
