Live-action adaptations have been around for years. While many have been released in the past few years, large numbers of those released have little or no critical acclaim. Sure, there have been some well-made live-action adaptations, but for the most part, they have fallen short.

From long-awaited sequels to daring remakes and original works, plenty of exciting films are coming out in 2024. Many of these films were delayed due to the Writers’ Guild of America, or WGA, strike last year. Now that the strike has ended, films are pressing play once more this year.

From “Lady Bird” to “Little Women” to the recent blockbuster “Barbie,” Gerwig produces hit after hit, continuously proving herself to be one of the best directors of the 21st century.

Ohio is not a team that backs down from a fight, and it proved that with its revenge win against Maryville on Saturday. The 5-1 victory was a welcome change from the 1-2 overtime loss the Bobcats suffered against the Saints on Friday. Maryville’s quick offense was nearly silenced by Ohio’s defense. Tuesday morning, shockwaves were sent around Film X, formerly Twitter, with the announcement of Oscar nominations. Not only was America’s favorite A-list Actress, Margot Robbie, left out of the Best Actress nominations, but one of the great directors of the last decade, Greta Gerwig was left out of the Best Director nominees, while the movie itself was nominated for Best Picture.

Dec. 11, 2023, Apple Inc. released its newest iOS 17.2 for iPhones, including a new pre-installed app, Journal. According to the Apple Newsroom, the app uses “on-device machine learning to provide personalized suggestions to inspire journal entries.” New AI technology is utilized to encourage self-reflection and mental health awareness. If people are already addicted to their phones, maybe healthy habits can come out of a notification.

The summer after my freshman year of college, I was diagnosed with Celiac disease. The condition causes an immune reaction to gluten, which often results in the malabsorption of nutrients, damage to the small intestine and various unpleasant side effects. The only way to prevent any of these reactions and side effects is to go on a strict gluten-free diet.
