Some places on Ohio University's campus have been infiltrated with cement trucks, giant cranes, sounds of jackhammers and people with hard hats within the past year.
But some students are interested in seeing additions that are not in the university's immediate plans.
Graduate student Scott Brown and junior Lindsay McDaniel both said the university should address the lack of parking on campus.
I think parking is always an issue. More parking spots would be nice
Brown said.
McDaniel said another parking garage Uptown would also help with the minimal parking within the city.
For students who do not have cars here, traveling off-campus can be a pain. They often have to borrow friends' cars or wait for rides. Allison Kline, a freshman, said students without cars need more stores within walking distance.
A few more clothing shop places that we can walk to if we don't have cars here on campus would be good said Kline.
For freshman Steve Johns, additional Uptown eateries would be a plus.
I think I'd love to see a Chipotle open up here Johns said.
Some students, however, are not thrilled with all the construction on campus and would rather see more green space preserved. Sophomore Lizzy Simpson said she does not like all the noise from the construction sites and hates looking at what it does to the campus.
I think it's a waste of money that they could be spending on other things
like nature
Simpson said.
