The last time the Ohio women's swimming and diving team lost a home dual meet was Jan. 27, 1996 against Ball State, and they look to extend their 52-meet winning streak this weekend against Denison and Ohio State. Meanwhile, the men are still in search of their first dual meet victory of the season.
The Bobcats just completed their rigorous holiday training and have not competed in six weeks.
Women's co-captain Becky McGaughey said it is important for the team to get back into the racing mentality this weekend.
We have a lot of good competition outside the (Mid-American Conference) and I think it's good to have this meet before we start competing against our MAC schools to try to get back into racing
she said.
Coach Greg Werner said many of the swimmers are fatigued from their recent training schedule and does not know how they will react to competition.
We could be rusty we could be ready to go; you never know he said. All I ask is that they concentrate on what we are asking them to work on and do the best they can to execute perfectly and try to improve on the last time they performed.
