Indoor track and field team season begins

Ohio's indoor track and field team opened its season Saturday at the Bowling Green Invitational. The women finished fourth of five teams, and the men had a strong showing in an un-scored meet.

Freshman distance runner Carime Reinhart led the women's track and field team on Saturday with a first place finish. Reinhart beat her own personal best in the 5000-meter run with a time of 17:39.10.

Carime Reinhart was incredible

coach Clay Calkins said. Reinhart was one of the top runners in the fall on the cross country team.

The Bobcat women ran against teams from four other schools. Ohio came in fourth place, beating Detroit-Mercy and finishing behind Western Michigan, Bowling Green and Miami, who came in first through third, respectively.

Well it was our opening meet and it was a great gauge to see where we are

Calkins said. It was a great way of testing out the athletes.
