Bobcats trampled at home by first-place Herd

With 1:07 remaining in the game and the Ohio women's basketball team down by 11, freshman guards Quintana Ward and Simone Redd weren't about to throw in the towel.

As the final seconds ticked by, Ward pushed the ball down the court, drove in the lane, and laid the ball up and in. Then, after a made Marshall free throw, Ward pulled up behind the arc, hitting nothing but the bottom of the net, pulling the Bobcats within seven with 54 seconds left to play.

Redd followed Ward's lead and made another 3, her third of the night, with 27 seconds to play, but it was not enough to pull the Bobcats ahead, as eight of 10 free throws made by Marshall ended the game, 72-63.

Our freshmen have been a major impact this year and continue to improve

coach Lynn Bria said. They have not been getting as many minutes as they should and that is going to change because they deserve to play more.
