Fulfill others' lives through love, praise

Love has no other desire but to fulfill itself.

But if you love and must needs have desires, let these be your desires:

To melt and be like a running brook that sings its melody to the night.

To know the pain of too much tenderness.

To be wounded by your own understanding of love;

And to bleed willingly and joyfully.

To wake at dawn with a winged heart and give thanks for another day of loving;

To rest at the noon hour and meditate love's ecstasy;

To return home at eventide with gratitude;

And then to sleep with a prayer for the beloved in your heart and a song of praise upon your lips.

-Khalil Gibran

Beloved children of the divine, I love you, one and all. For 23 years you have given me joy and love, fulfilled me in every possible way.

You have shared my breath and offered me a panorama of emotions.

From this rich palette, I wish to choose the gentle yellows of light, the lush greens of peace, the calm pinks of love, the burning reds of passion and the soft blues of hope as I paint the garden of my life.

For every hue of every day I thank you. I thank you for the scent of fresh cut grass and the music of Simon and Garfunkel.

I thank you for the mountains and the rain. I thank you for every beam of light and every smile that ever flitted across my face.

I hope one day to see you as you truly are, not as tiny stars in the sea of darkness but as that one infinite light that shines through all of the tiny holes in the fabric of the night.

I wish to see the divinity in every single creature, shining through their translucent bodies, glowing bright, alight with the sheer bliss of existence within them.

I pray that you share that vision of radiance with me.

I know that you live in hardship. Fear, sadness and pain torment you. All over the world there is hatred, there is violence, anger and strife.

You know in your heart that this need not be. The desire to love and be loved burns in us all. The quest for happiness, comfort and peace of mind inspires every moment of our lives. We, only we, can fill that need. Only by extending the love and care we so desire to those around us will we be able to receive the same.

So I urge you to cast aside your fears and live in fullness; reach out for the most beautiful, the most sacred ends. That which you dare not imagine for fear of losing, that which seems gloriously impossible --reach for that.

Care not for tomorrow. The lord who created you will take care of all your needs. The great poet Tulsidas asked, When the lord is with you

then what in this world can possibly harm you?

Cast aside all shackles and live in inspiration and then you will find that the world is a perennial source of celebration. Rejoice in the utter magnificence of life. In the words of the 17th century poet Thomas Traherne, The world is a mirror of infinite beauty yet no man sees it. Gaze into this mirror and see the unbounded glory that is you.

God is not separate from us, we are all in the heart of God. Jesus said, I am in you and you are in me.

God is the very essence of all creation, imbued in every pore of our beings. Let us recognize that divinity everywhere. Filled with wonder and love, let us go about our lives with the lord in our hearts and, as Gibran might say, a song of praise upon our lips.
