Bobcats look to bring record to 2-3 before playing first road game of season by Michelle Munoz After a hard 16-3 loss to No. 3 Northwestern, the Ohio lacrosse team will get back into competition this weekend with a home game against Virginia Tech.
The team currently holds a record of 0-3. The Hokies are currently 1-1. Ohio is looking to get their record up to 2-3 before they get on the road and face more American Lacrosse Conference opponents.
Ohio will take on Johns Hopkins on Sunday before they head to the road for their first away game of the season. Johns Hopkins is a member of the ALC.
Dana Dobbie said that the team is expecting a win this weekend against Virginia Tech, despite a loss to them last season.
We are expecting a win this weekend
said Dobbie, who was selected to the 2005 preseason ALC First Team. As opposed to losing like we did the past three games. We lost last year (to Virginia Tech.) but it was definitely one of the games we should have won. We are thinking about that. When it comes to their skill level they are a young team like we are
but we have a little more depth. Goalkeeper Jayme Levy said that the team has been preparing for this game to get their first win.
(This game) has been extremely important to the team
Levy said. We are looking for our first win. We have been practicing really hard this week for the game
and it should turn out well. The game will take place today at 4 p.m. at Peggy Pruitt Field. They will play Johns Hopkins on Sunday at noon, also at Peggy Pruitt Field.
