The golf teams finished their first weekends of the spring season with much success.
The men were in the Virgin Islands competing in the St. Croix College Invitational. They managed a team score of 904. The score placed them 15 out of the 17 teams at the invite. Xavier won the tournament with a team score of 868.
Jon Johasky led the team with a score of 223. He landed 33rd out of 91 competitors.
The men will be in action again during Spring break when they travel to Pinehurst, NC. They will face High Point in a one-on-one match.
On the women's side The women competed in the East/West Rio Verde Invitational. The team had a score of 932 placing them fifth out of 18 teams. Michigan won the meet with a team score of 900. Ohio did finish ahead of all other MAC competitors.
Julie Tomlinson led the team with her final-round score of 78. Individually she placed fifth out of 108 competitors. Her 54-hole total of 226 placed her just eight strokes behind the first place finisher Laura Olin of Michigan.
Ohio's Meredith Waterston tied for 33rd with a score of 238. Ana Brown and Sara Ann Palmer both tied for 44th with their scores of 241. Shanna Siefke tied for 61st with a score of 245 and Kristen Mautz's 255 landed her in 88th.
The women will be in action again for the Lady Herd/El Diablo Intercollegiate on March 21-22 in Citrus Springs, Fla.
