You never find a perfect dean or a perfect provost, just like you never find perfect students and perfect faculty members.
Ohio University is also not perfect, but it is in my opinion a whole lot better place for the majority of us as students, faculty and staff as a result of Kathy Krendl being here in the position of dean and now as interim provost.
Ohio University will look a long time before it finds a provost candidate that will match Krendl in talent, experience and commitment.
I value The Post's opinion (Pick a provost, April 12). From my perspective as a faculty member and former dean in three good universities you missed the mark in Tuesday's editorial. Kathy Krendl is the one you want to be rooting for.
