After a successful weekend in Oxford at the Miami invitational, the Bobcat track and field team will head to Columbus this weekend for the All-Ohio Championships.
It will showcase many of Ohio's finest athletes.
I'm feeling pretty good about the meet
Dan Bailey, men's team captain and sprinter said. Coming off last week's good finish we're hoping we can even step it up.
Ohio State will play host to the tournament at their 10,000-seat Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium.
The atmosphere is pretty exciting because there are more fans because we're at a bigger stadium Bailey said about competing at this facility.
Mid-American Conference teams in attendance will be Bowling Green, Kent State, Miami and Toledo.
Ashland University, Central State University, University of Cincinnati, University of Dayton, University of Findlay, Wright State University, Youngstown State University and Xavier University will also be competing.
Everyone wants to go after the title. Everyone wants to be the champion
assistant coach Christi Smith said. But you know what
it's anyone's game. It all depends on which athletes come to perform and have the ability to step up and take control on their team.
Each team will bring their sharpest and most polished efforts. As their times are potential qualifying times for the upcoming regional championships, the Bobcats will put forward their best strategies at this competition.
Everyone's bringing their times down
Bailey said with confidence. As a team we're really coming together. With the way things are looking
we should do really well.
It's that time of year -midseason. It's time to start ... thinking about the end of the season and nationals
Smith said. All of the athletes are thinking about nationals and there will be lots of regional qualifying performances. We're going to try to go out
stay relaxed and focused and just get the job done.
The contest will kick off on April 15 at 3 p.m. and finish April 16 around 8 p.m.
