Jericka Duncan had been preparing for something all season, and this weekend it finally happened.
At the All-Ohio Championships in Columbus, Duncan qualified for the NCAA Regional meet in the100-meter hurdles with a time of 13.81. Duncan's second place finish in the 100-meter hurdles and her win in the 400-meter hurdles, with a season-best time of 1:00.88, got the Bobcats 18 points, half of their total 36. Duncan's points helped land the women in eighth place out of 14 teams.
Also earning points for the Bobcats were the 4x400 meter relay team with their third-place finish and Tamara Fennell's fifth-place finish in the triple jump.
Thrower Jaclyn Lugaila was seventh in the hammer throw, Chelsea Stephan placed fifth in the javelin throw and Aileen Taylor and Susan Plungis were sixth in the 800-meter run and the heptathlon respectively.
On the men's side, it was Dan Bailey who was responsible for 20 of the Bobcats' total 94 points placing third in the 100-meter dash, third in the 200-meter dash and second in the 400-meter dash.
The Bobcats also had John Willis land first place in the 400-meter dash and Dustin Holm take fifth place in the 200-meter dash.
Bailey said that the meet was a good one for everyone and that he has the NCAA Regionals on his mind.

Bailey said. Everyone did a great job it was really impressive. I am looking to try to qualify in the 400-meter myself.
It was in the distance events that the Ohio men found many of their points.
In the 10,000-meter run Austin Schiele, Brian List and Craig Leon came in third, fourth and fifth, respectively, earning 15 points total in the race. Joey McKinney and Andy Bittner registered third and seventh in the 5,000-meter run, and Bob Wayner took fifth in the 1,500-meter run. Chad Lutz also managed a third place showing in the decathlon.
Brian King also aided the team's efforts with a third place finish in the steeplechase, while the 4x100 relay squad captured first place. In the pole vault, Kyle Burns and Boone Troyer took third and eighth place, respectively.
Next weekend the Bobcats will travel to Oxford to compete in the Southern Cup Championships.
