After almost four months, the search committee to find a new vice president of Finance and Administration narrowed its search to four candidates, which includes Interim Vice President Larry Corrigan.
The first of four public forums with the candidates will be at 4 p.m. today in rooms 141-145 in the Human Resource Training Center. Each candidate will make an opening statement followed by a question-and-answer session.
The 23-member committee reviewed 76 applications, said chair Michael Sostarich, who is also Ohio University's vice president for Student Affairs.
Larry Reese, vice president for Administrative and Financial Services at Florida A&M University, will speak today, followed by Corrigan on Thursday. Dates for the other two candidates -Lawrence Kelley, vice president for Administration and Finance at California Polytechnic State University, and Kenneth Payne, treasurer/chief investment officer at Cooperative for Assistance and Relief Everywhere -have not been confirmed.
The vice president is the chief fiscal officer and represents Ohio University to the Ohio Board of Regents. He or she also heads the budget office, human resources, the physical plant, business services and campus planning, construction, security and safety.
The committee looked for applicants with prior administrative positions at research universities or state governments, according to its advertisement for the position.
Sostarich said the committee will schedule the final forum for the week after commencement. OU President Roderick McDavis will then choose the candidate near the end of June and will assign a salary.
Corrigan, who replaced Gary North in September, makes $150,000.
