Putting other people first is something Molly Wurdack has always done.
While this quality is one of many reasons why she excels at being a tri-captain for the Ohio women's lacrosse team, she is praised mainly for her ability to mentor and guide younger players on her team.
She attributes the learning of this skill to the major influences in her life.
I had great mentors in life growing up; not only my parents
but also older teammates who really took me under their wings and taught me the ropes and really looked out for me. It really made me feel great Wurdack said. I know what it feels like to be younger and new -especially in college -and it has always been important for me to look out for the young people and make sure they are feeling comfortable.
One of the players this senior defender and Hudson, Ohio, native has taken under her wing is freshman attacker Frannie Sullivan.
She is just an awesome leader who is a motivator on and off the field and does anything she can to help Sullivan said. One of the things I love about her is the great feeling she gives you and to know you have a senior captain believe in you so much.
