Athens -Saturday, July 2nd -Boomsday 2005 begins at 10 a.m. with a parade on Morris Avenue. The fireworks show starts at 10 p.m. on East State Street.
Nelsonville -Monday, July 4th -The Thunder in the Valley begins at 4:30 p.m. with a battle of the bands at Hocking College Recreation Center. Patrons can park and ride on the Hocking Valley Scenic Railroad starting at 7:30 p.m. Vendors will be on hand selling food and beverages, and at 8 p.m., the Combined VFW Color Guard will hold a memorial service and wreath laying at the E.B. Miller Arena.
