Ohio volleyball coach Geoff Carlston has named Nadia Edwards to the coaching staff for the 2005 season.
Edwards will replace former assistant coach Anne Botica, who left in April, as Carlston's top assistant on his staff.
Edwards is a product of Penn State's volleyball program that played in the NCAA tournament each of her four years, from 1998 to 2001. The team won a national championship in 1999. She also played professional volleyball for the St. Louis Quest in 2001-2002 and two years of A1 European League in Switzerland and Spain.
Besides playing professionally, Edwards was an assistant coach under Greg Smith at Virginia Tech in 2003.

The honor is voted upon by faculty athletic representatives at Mid-American Conference schools and given to athletes with at least a 3.20 GPA and who have played in 50 percent of their games.
Davis, an applied mathematics major, posted a 3.79 GPA while starting 32 games behind the plate for the Bobcats. She hit .198 this season with one home run and 11 RBIs and was tied for second in runs scored (19) and walks (11). Her on-base percentage of .352 also ranked her second among players with more than 30 at-bats.
The Academic All-MAC team features 19 softball players from all schools in the conference. Bowling Green and Buffalo had the most players represented among any MAC school with three each. Davis was Ohio's only selection.
