While the normal Ohio student is partaking in the Halloween celebration, the hockey team will be taking care of business in St. Louis.
The Bobcats (9-1-1, 6-0 Central States Collegiate Hockey League) will be facing off against the St. Louis Billikens tonight and tomorrow at 7:30 p.m.
The guys know that they miss out on (Halloween)
coach Dan Morris said. We want them to experience it so we usually schedule one game every four years earlier so they get one chance to experience it.
Ohio captain Jordan Levy is not disappointed about missing Halloween either. He came here to play hockey.
Guys who haven't been here for it are a little upset Levy said. We all know we are here for hockey
and it's not that big of a deal.
Forward Jim Fuhs admits that he will miss being here this weekend.
We have the best Halloween party
Fuhs said. It's the sacrifice you make; I'm ready to play hockey.
The second American Collegiate Hockey Association rankings for the season came out on Oct. 20. The Bobcats tallied one first place vote, but were No.3 for consecutive polls.
(The ranking) is deserved
Morris said. Illinois is the team to beat and Penn State lost last week. It's just us
Illinois and Rhode Island that are undefeated in ACHA play. You're the champ until someone knocks you off
so Illinois is deserving.
Morris added that the team is not looking ahead to the Penn State series because the next two series, Saint Louis this week and next week against Western Michigan, are important league games.
We have to take it one week at a time
Morris said.
After what Levy called a physical weekend, the Bobcats responded well having a high energy, rejuvenated practices this week.
Any time you play three physical games in a row you are tired
Levy said. We bounced back after no practice on Monday and did really well in practice.
Saturday was a really physical game
and I was curious as to how our team was going to respond Sunday
